I had a doctor's appointment this morning. Doc did another FFN (Fetal Fiber Netcin) test to determine if I have a good chance of NOT going into labor in the next 2 weeks. She wants to continue doing these tests for the remainder of my pregnancy. Again, the prayer here is to not hear from the doctor's office by tomorrow- that means no labor!
Doc measured my belly after having noticed how much I was showing. She said that I am measuring at 28 weeks, and I'm only 25 weeks pregnant...SO, I wasn't totally crazy with my "theory" of being due earlier! :) Doc said that Hudson could just be a REALLY BIG BOY, like his Daddy. She referenced Adam's stature and build and said that because of him, it's likely that I have a large baby. She also said that I could in fact have him 3 weeks early from my latest due date (dec. 27th), so she said anytime around Thanksgiving might be possible...She said we'd know a little more in about a week and a half. We will be going to our specialist doctor to have some tests done and have little Hudson's bones and organs measured and looked at. That doc will be able to give us a better reference as to how big he actually is.
I asked doc about this ridiculous back pain I've been having for the last week, and she said that because my frame is so small, and I'm carrying such a large baby, I'm going to have the back pain...Oh great, Oh joy, I'm thrilled. I'm taking suggestions for any stretches that anyone knows that might help with the pain- it's seriously worse than the darn contractions!
As far as bedrest, it looks like I'm still "home bound" for a few more weeks...Doc wants to wait and see what the specialist says and then we can talk about possibly getting out of this beautiful, but boring house!
I have to go back to the doctor's office tomorrow morning for my glucose test. Apparently, you can't eat anything from mid-night on before having the test done, and I didn't know that! I had a piece of toast this morning before I went to the doctor, not knowing that it wasn't allowed. OOPS! I did skip breakfast a few months ago because I wasn't hungry, and that resulted in some major mouth to toilet time--- so, here's hoping that my tummy will accept no food in the morning and not make it a rough ride to the doctor's office!
Hope everyone is feeling good and loving life this Thursday. Thank you for the texts, calls, and visits- they mean SO much to us. God's Peace~ Sarah & Hudson
Sarah, I found some really great yoga stretches to do while I was preggers. The cat-cow stretch and modified downward dog were great for my back. There are actually quite a few you can do while pregnant...I'll see if I can find my book to send you. Otherwise, an internet search might help you out. Love you (and Hudson too)!!
ReplyDeleteI'd be honored to share Dec. 5 with this "little" feller. That might save you three weeks of heavy lifting...and that back. Ow
ReplyDeleteLol, I knew it! I'm sure you'll have to unroll him several times to measure him after he is born!
ReplyDeleteYou might ask about a belly support belt. It'll take some of the load off your back.
ReplyDeleteAll of your comments are wonderful! Thank you! Audrey- I have a Wii game that has a stretching workout for pregnant ladies...your comment made me think of it! Only problem, the Wii and the game are upstairs and I don't see myself climbing those anytime soon...Maybe my big strong hubby will help me get up there!
ReplyDeleteHolly- thanks for the thought about the belt- I'll ask doc about it when I see her next!
Preggo-belly kickstand is in the works Sarah. I need to come test my prototype on an actual preggo. Maybe in the next few weekends I could swing up for a night and see my sis and her HUGE belly. Glad you are not crazy and Hudson is good. Love you Sis. - E
ReplyDeleteStill praying that your son stays put for now... I will add relief from back pain to the list. I have not been prego so I can't give much advice. Just have your husband stand behind you and hold Hudson up for a while to get some relief? I'm sure that yoga would be good!
ReplyDeleteTera- I LOVE your idea of Adam holding Hudson up for a while!!! I'm going to try that when he gets home today!!! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAudrey- I googled the cat/cow yoga stretch and it's fabulous! I've been doing it every few hours and it seems to help a little! Thanks for the help!
So glad it's helping! Yoga is awesome all the time, but especially while pregnant. I could still touch my toes at the end of the pregnancy with the twins! Of course, I couldn't breathe at the same time...
ReplyDeleteSARAH! I have been thinking about you so much lately and then Kelly tells me that you have a blog! SO glad you are doing this to keep us all updated. You have been in my prayers since I heard about your bedrest. YUCK but YEA that things are going well! You look great and I am thrilled for you and Adam. We'll continue our prayers and continue reading your blog. I need your email address too...I sent you an email a few months ago at the one I had (the hands one) but I don't think that's right. Mine is the same laurajane00@hotmail.com so send it when you get some time. I am dying to catch up!
