Monday's Doc Appointment

Went to the doctor this morning and had a "Fetal Fiber Nectin" test.  This test checks for a hormone.  If I have the hormone, there is a possibility of going into labor in the next 10-14 days.  If the test is negative for the hormone, that gives us a 99% chance that I will NOT go into labor for the next 10-14 days...So obviously, we're praying that the test is NEGATIVE!!!  The doctor said we would only hear from her if the test is positive, in which case, we would have to go back into the hospital and receive the anti-labor drugs to try and hold it off until at least week 24 (2 weeks away).  I told the doctor, "Great!  I REALLY HOPE I DON'T HEAR FROM YOU THEN!"  Doc wants to do these tests every 10 days to give us a heads up of where we are in this pregnancy.

Of course, keeping Hudson in my belly until his due date (Dec. 27th) is the goal, but doc said we HAVE to make it until at least week 24.  As long as he is 24 weeks, there are medical things they can do to help.

I asked about this bedrest crap...And got back an answer that sounds really boring.  I have to stay on bedrest for a while and keep doing these fetal fiber nectin tests.  If they come back negative, then I can maybe start to think about doing "a few" normal day-to-day things...Basically, she reassured us that we made the right decision to quit my job.  She said that if I'd had a boring office job and I didn't have to move, I might be able to go back to that part-time at some point, but with teaching 1st grade, she said our decision was absolutely the best thing we could do to give our baby the best possible beginning in this world.  I know, I know, all of you have told me over and over, "You guys made the right decision", but somehow, hearing that from a medical professional that you trust with your life...well...that just gave us even more peace of mind.  :)

Prayer Request for Today: Fetal Fiber Nectin test comes back negative.

Prayer Request for next 2 weeks: Hudson James stays put and doesn't try and sneak his way out.
